Haringey Gramophone Library

487 world music records bought from Hornsey Library

Sample based music culture means crate digging, always searching for unusual records in second hand shops, car boot sales and libraries.  While second hand sources tend to have the same old records, libraries often contain a unique collection of intelligently curated and unusual music  selection that has been careful chosen from around the world. Especially in a library located in a multicutlural area.

The opportunity to buy records from the back room store of Hornsey library was irresistable. I bought as many as I could afford from 10's of thousands (although 80% were classical).

I am now in the process of recataloging this collection on Discogs in preparation for the opening of a guerilla borrowing service.  The intention: to reintroduce this incredible collection of music into public borrowing circulation.
